Lai Mohammed Allegedly Diverted Broadcast Equipments To Home Town, Says Omeje

NSUKKA- The non functionality of Nigerian Television Authority located at Ikeagwu Hill in Isiakpu Community, Nsukka Enugu North has been attributed to an alleged overbearing and negative influence of the Information Minister Lai Mohammed.

The Minister was fingered for allegedly diverted broadcast equipments particularly the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) equipments meant for Ikeagwu Isiakpu in Nsukka, Enugu State.

Speaking with the Community leader of Ikeagwu Isiakpu Pastor Moses Chukwuma he said, “We have NTA on this Ikeagwu hill with structures and some equipments. But they cannot take off or function because the information reaching the community was that the Minister for Information Lai Mohammed diverted broadcast equipments meant for NTA Ikeagwu to Kene his home town in Kwara State.”

The Community leader who retired from the Federal Office of the Surveyor General went further and alleged, “we also got the information that the Broadcast equipments being used by Kene NTA Station which is now functioning in full capacity were clearly marked Ikeagwu Station”.

“We are calling on the Governor of Enugu State Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to put pressure on the Federal Government to ensure that NTA Ikeagwu Station functions”.

Daily Independent witnessed NTA structures and antenna at the Ikeagwu topmost hill, but the station was yet to open for business and to the members of the public.

Reports from the area had it that the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria Voice FM stations located on the same Ikeagwu hill were the constituecy projects of Senator Anyogu Eze who represented Enugu North at the National Assembly.
