In line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC) under the Leadership of the Chairman,Mr.Chiedu Ebie and the MD,Dr Samuel Ogboku, has successfully embarked on an Empowerment Program in Abia which started in March 2024 and ended in April 2024 in three centres namely Lenxo Hotels Obehie, Enitonia Hotels Aba and Bishop Nwedo Memorial School Umuahia.
The program captured the following courses, such as:Painting (decorative and conventional),Epoxy floors building and decorations,Ceiling & Walll Decorations,Media Consol,Pop and Blind Fixing,Oil & Emulsion Paint Making etc..
While addressing the trainnees, the Abia Representative on the Board of NDDC, Chief Dr. Eruba Dimgba admonished the youth not to take the program for granted,hinting that it’s an opportunity that will give them a good future and establish them in life, saying that many spend big amount of money to get this trainings. ‘As as an interventionist Agency poised in building human capacity and developing the area, NDDC under the leadership of the Chairman,Mr. Chiedu Ebie and the MD,Dr Samuel Ogbuku has promised to make sure the youth of the Niger Delta will receive adequate training that will showcase them to the world other than engaging in ill manner activities such as oil bunkering and drug abuse ‘ he concluded.
The participants in their speech said they will reciprocate the kind gesture which the NDDC has given to them by making sure they utilised the opportunity judiciously.
Highpoint of the program was the issuance of certificates to all the participants.
