In a heartbreaking turn of events, beloved Nollywood actor Mr. John Paul Obumneme Odonwodo, affectionately known as Junior Pope, tragically lost his life in a boat accident while filming a movie on the Niger River. The sudden passing of this talented actor has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and his devoted fan base.
In a touching announcement , the Odonwodo family of Chief Luke Odonwodo from Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, in Nsukkaa, Igboetiti, LGA of Enugu State, expressed their profound grief and announced the funeral arrangements for their cherished son, father, uncle, and beloved superstar.
The funeral arrangements which was signed by Dr. Divine Odonwodo, the family conveyed that Junior Pope’s departure has left an irreplaceable void, and they are finding solace in surrendering to God’s will during this trying period. They conveyed their heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming support and love extended to them by the public.
The schedule for the funeral services is as follows:
1.) Tuesday, 23rd April, 2024: A Requiem Mass will be conducted at St. John-Mary Vianney Parish in Asaba, Delta State, beginning at 5 pm.
2.) Monday, 13th May, 2024: Another Requiem Mass will be held at Christ the King Parish GRA in Enugu, Enugu State, also commencing at 5 pm.
3.) Tuesday, 14th May, 2024: An Evening of Tributes and Candle Light will be observed at the Amadeo Event Center in Enugu, Enugu State, at 5 pm. This event will provide an opportunity for friends, family, and fans to pay their respects and celebrate Junior Pope’s memory.
4.) Thursday, 16th May, 2024: A Wake Keep will be held at his ancestral home in Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, in Nsukkaa, Igboetiti, LGA of Enugu State. This gathering will offer the community a chance to come together and mourn the loss of the esteemed actor.
5.) Friday, 17th May, 2024: The Burial Mass will take place at St. Peter’s Parish in Ukehe at 10 am, followed by the interment ceremony, where Junior Pope will be laid to rest.
6.) Sunday, 19th May, 2024: A Thanksgiving Mass will be conducted at St. Peter’s Parish in Ukehe, Nsukkan, Igboetiti LGA, Enugu State. This service will serve as an occasion to commemorate Junior Pope’s life and legacy.
