Oluwakemi Badare, a 36-year-old Nigerian mother, is currently standing trial charged with murdering her four-year-old son in the United Kingdom, reports say.
Badare allegedly drowned her son, Kingswealth Bayode in a bath which led to his death. The child was reportedly discovered “lifeless” on Sunday, December 27th.
The mother of the deceased is being held at Bronzefield Prison, and was represented by a lawyer for the 10-minute administrative hearing at the Old Bailey last week.
The court was told that emergency services were called to the address in Invermore Place on Sunday shortly before 8am, where the boy was found dead.
She was arrested at the scene and taken into custody before being charged. She subsequently appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody.
A post mortem has been carried out on the corpse of the boy, presiding Judge, Anthony Leonard QC listed the case for a plea hearing on March 17th.
Oluwakemi, who reportedly suffered from mental health issues was sectioned in 2017 for putting him in hot water, which led to social services taking the child from her while she remained in a psychiatric hospital for a year and two months.
