As the battle to clich the 2023 governorship ticket among various political Blocs in Abia State intensifies: the All Progressive Congress has insisted that it will not zone its ticket to any bloc or senatorial zone in the state, noting all zones are free to contest.

Chairman of the party Chief Donatus Nwankpa, disclosed this in Umuahia the state capital on Wednesday, said the party was interested in the quality of leaders who will bring the desired change to the state and not where they are coming from.

He maintained that the party cannot fail to link the state with the ruling political party in the country, to enable it’s citizens enjoy the full dividends of democracy.

Nwamkpa also warned aspirants for the party’s forth coming ward congress to shun any form that did not emanate from the party’s secretariate in the state.

He urged the intending ward executives to ensure that any form they would purchase was duly signed by the party’s state chairman and secretary respectively.

He said the need for aspirants to cross check the forms they were buying became necessary following reports from the staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission of a group intending to sale forms to unsuspecting members of the public ahead of the ward Congress selected for July 31, 2021.

He pointed out that there will not be any automatic ticket for any aspirant for the party’s ward Congress.

He said, “Every member of the party is eligible to contest for any position of his choice in the fortcoming ward Congress
and no member of the past excutive that is exempted from participating in the exercise.

“But we advice our members to be ware of fake form, any form that did not come from our party secretariate and duly signed by the chairman and secretary is not ours.

“With this development our party secretariate will be open for intending aspirant to purchase their forms from the representative from our National secretariate led by Mr Obinna Ugama and his team”.

He hinted that the forms for the ward chairman would sale for N10, 000, the deputy ward chairman and ward secretary will sale for N5000, while other positions will sale for N2000 respectively.
