✔️ The world class Isolation Centre has a 300-bed capacity
✔️ The center is located at the Infectious Disease Control Unit of the General Hospital Ituk Mbang
✔️ The Isolation centre covers a large stretch of 2400 Sq meters landmass
✔️ The Isolation centre has an inbuilt Diagnostic Molecular Virology Laboratory with a Category 3 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) machine for the testing of COVID-19 samples and other infectious diseases.
✔️ The center was constructed by Governor Udom Emmanuel in line with international best practices, under strict adherence to the guidelines, specifications and standard of the World Health Organization, WHO and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, as an additional centre in the state towards the fight against COVID-19.
✔️ The ultramodern Isolation centre was constructed within a record breaking time of only 6 weeks, the first of its kind in Nigeria.
✔️ The Isolation centre boasts of Virology and Clinical Laboratories, 8 Consulting rooms, 4 change rooms, 2 emergency exits and canteens.
✔️ The world class Isolation Centre complex has 4 wards with 75 beds each, 20 en-suite Doctors’ Quarters, 26 intercom lines in each ward and 4 Disinfection rooms for Doctors and Nurses.
✔️ All the beds in the Isolation centre are linked to Oxygen plant while the entire wards are under close surveillance through CCTV cameras.
✔️ The 300-bed Isolation Centre complex was commissioned by Governor Udom Emmanuel on May 29, 2020
✔️ The world class Isolation Centre was inaugurated as part of activities to mark the 5th anniversary and 1st year anniversary into the second term in office of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
✔️ The center which has been visited by various world class health organizations including: the World Health Organization, WHO and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, is adjudged one of the best in Nigeria.
✔️ The Category 3 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) machine in the inbuilt Laboratory of the Isolation centre has so far commenced testing of COVID-19 samples after due certification by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
✔️ The Category 3 PCR Machine commenced testing of COVID-19 cases with 22 Samples on Friday June 12, 2020.
✔️ The centre will enhance fast release of COVID-19 test results and put paid to the anxiety and challenges of having to travel for hours to nighbouring states with COVID-19 samples for testing.
✔️ The world class 300-bed Isolation Centre will serve as a veritable Research center for University Dons and students.
✔️ The Isolation Centre complex will remain as a memorial legacy project for generations unborn on the 2020 global ravaging COVID-19 pandemic.
