Two female suspects Philomena Ebe and Justina Edison have been apprehended by Rivers State Police Command for causing havoc in the Omokuru area of Rivers State.
The suspects, were caught at their hideout following a distress call received by the police regarding their criminal activities.
According to the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, the arrest was made after a successful operation by the police in response to the distress call. One of the victims, Mr. Patrick, reported being robbed and raped by these criminals.
During the arrest, six male gang members managed to escape with gunshot wounds after a fierce exchange of gunfire.
However, Philomena Ebe and Justina Edison were caught with two locally made guns, charms, and some money believed to have been obtained from their previous operation.
The suspects confessed to their crimes and provided details about their modus operandi to the police. They were paraded at the State Police headquarters along with other criminals.
The arrest of these suspects is a significant breakthrough in the fight against crime in the Omokuru area. The Rivers State Police Command is committed to ensuring the safety and security of residents and will continue to work diligently to apprehend other members of their gang.
