Every human being is uniquely different and the human personality is a creation of nature. Ncheta Okoro Omerekpe, the Abia foremost philanthropist that goes with the sobriquet, ” OFOR NDI IGBO” is one man at home with his love for mankind.

Born in Umuakwu Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia state. He attended Umuakwu Central School, Nelcin Secondary school, Aba and Abia State University, Uturu where he bagged a Degree in History and International Relations. He is amiable, kind hearted and an outstanding intellectual asset in business research, consultancy, international relations, project management, business education etc

He is the Founder, Ncheta Omerekpe Foundation and believes you don’t need to be in any elected position before you can render selfless service to people. Mr. Omerekpe is single handedly building a 17km asphalt road, mounting street lights, construction of three school buildings, construction of two giant civic halls/skills acquisition centres, equipping primary health centres with ultra modern medical facilities, digging of many motorized water boreholes, dishing out scholarship to undergraduates, yearly distribution of fertilizer to indigent farmers, distribution of rice for consumption. He has gifted cars, motorcycles and has helped many with started up capital for their business. He has many awards and honours to his credit, and one of them is his induction into the Royal fishing club of the Netherlands.

You may ask, why induct him, is he a fisherman? Ncheta Okoro Omerekpe is a fisherman – but, he hunts another kind of fish. You will not see the Abia foremost philanthropist on the high sea with fishing trawler or dragging his net at Iyi Umuelema, Umuakwu yet he is a fisherman like the Biblical Peter in the Bible, who encountered Jesus Christ and swiftly obeyed his command, “Lay down your net and follow me, i will make you fishers of men. That same spiritual connotation that moved Peter, resonates in Chief Ncheta Omerekpe – The kingfisher.

Whenever he throws his net, he does not catch tilapia or catfish, the kind of fish in his net are – road projects, street lights, state of the art hospital equipments, water borehole, fertilizer to farmers, cars, motorcycles etc

Ncheta Omerekpe is successful International business man who seats atop the Ncheta Group – Ncheta Farms Ltd, Omench konsot Ltd, Ncheta Global Resources Ltd, Omech American Hospital Ltd with presence in Nigeria, Republic of Guinea, Senegal, Holland, United States of America etc

Let us therefore celebrate our own, the man who has done much for others and the society more than to himself, a man whose best Bible quotations are Psalms 41: 1.

“Blessed is he that considereth the poor, the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble and James 1:27
“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the father is this: To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Let us pray and celebrate a good man as he turns 50 years today.
