The APC in Abia State seem to remain a divided house, going into 2023 general elections as the party says, a chieftain of the party, Chief Ikechi Emenije has been suspended from the party since 2018, according to it, following a series of anti-party activities.

This was made known on Thursday, by the State Secretary of the party in Abia, Barr. Perfect Okorie.

He said Chief Emenike was suspended in 2018 after an investigative panel found him guilty of hobnobbing with PDP to sabotage the effort of the APC.

According to the State Secretary, Chief Emenike did not appeal his suspension which bars him from taking part in any activity of the party in the state.

The APC state Secretary, Barr. Okorie said the 2018 suspension of Chief Emenike has thus been reinforced, adding that Chief Emenike’s suspension has been communicated to the National Leadership of APC, cautioning him against taking part in activities of the party, especially the congresses slated to start this weekend

This may not be unconnected with reports that Chief Emenike has perfected plans to hold a parallel APC Congress in the state, and his list across the 184 ward of Abia is ready and waiting for endorsement from Abuja.

The party warned members to desist from dealing with Chief Emenike, warning him to stop intruding in the congress committees affairs of the APC.

In a related development, Abia APC Chairman, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa may be set to return as the State Chairman of APC in Abia as he had secured a comfortable vote of confidence during the State Working committee meetimg of the APC in Umuahia on Thursday.

They applauded Hon.Donatus Nwankpa, him for stabilising the party.
