Agriculture is no doubt the next economic hub and future destination for Nigeria and indeed many other countries of the world. With the dwindling oil revenue and the predictions by renowned economic analysts, the lucrative oil sector is fast taking the back seat in the world economy index.
To underscore the above assertion, the Federal Government has through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other Agricultural supporting banks created a stimulus for Nigerian farmers, cutting across the small, the big and even the large scale players and processors of Agricultural products with the sole aim of massively increasing output, reduce food importation, guarantee food security, creative employment and distribute wealth.
Leaveraging on this Agric business window, a group, Adasomi Foundation has thus, introduce a system of easy ways of engaging in the agricultural business called, HECTARE BY HECTARE
HECTARE BY HECTARE is a well thought – out system that can create over 200,000 direct employment opportunities to Abians and take many; especially our unemployed teeming youths out of the streets.
The scheme is designed to accommodate both small holder, peasant farmers, large scale farmers, even farmers engaged in the production of identified commodities and this programme is cutting across every community in Abia State.
Adasomi group has a designed workable template to develop Farm Estates in different communities in Abia state and would encourage farmers to form group of cooperative(s) society that will accommodate a minimum of 5 and maximum of 20 farmers for effective administration, supervisions and good results.
Adasomi foundation will make financial contribution with very low bearing loans, engage buyers / primary off – takers and take charge of distribution of farm inputs like : fertilizers, seedlings, pesticides etc. They are ready and well prepared to play other roles that would ensure effective take -off with the aim to maximum yield and positive result for all the participating farmers in a double maxima of sufficient food production / food security and creating of direct wealth to the farmers.
The group is targeting mostly unemployed youths, women and peasant farmers with the aid of learning materials, and capable trainers in the Agricultural sector. The farmers so selected will also act as awareness volunteers and change agents, under the HECTARE BY HECTARE volunteer scheme, organize town hall meetings, become agents of basic social responsibility programmes and once in a while engage in voluntary service such as : tress planting, road maintaince, voter awareness, environmental protection, community policing and agricultural extension services.
Hence, come 18th day of October, all roads will lead to Hotel Royal Damgrete, Umuahia,Abia State as HECTARE BY HECTARE PROGRAMME, aimed at promoting food sufficiency, employment, wealth creation, wealth Redistribution, financial Inclusion and general public awareness through Agric business with it’s value chain is set to be unveiled to Abians.
Adasomi group is calling the Abia State Government, Traditional Rulers, Political office holders that wish to empower their constituents through Agriculture, farmers, cooperative society(s) groups, community heads, women leaders, youth group, peasant farmers and indeed the general public to avail themselves this rare opportunity to key into this life changing Agricultural programme.
