Abia Head of Service calls for continuous service training

Abia State Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah has reiterated the usefulness of constant training and retraining of staff to achieve the optimum productivity.

Sir Wamah who spoke while declaring open a 3 -day training and retraining programme organised for staff of the Government House, Umuahia, appreciated the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Elder Okechukwu Aguwa and his management team for putting together the training programme for their staff.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Pensions, Mr Okey Ihedioha, Sir Wamah assured civil servants that government will continue to reposition the service through constant training and retraining of the staff to enhance service delivery.

He charged participants to take the training programme seriously to enhance their efficiency and productivity.

Earlier in his keynote address, the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Umuahia, Elder Okechukwu Aguwa said the training programme is significant and complimentary to the aspirations of the Head of Service and will cover a lot of areas that are germane to the civil service including discipline ,ethics, public service Rules, financial Regulations, among others.

He hinted that the management approved the training and retraining programme to enhance the efficiency and productivity of workers in the state especially now that the world is ICT driven.
