In line with the Governor’s directives and in view of strengthening the traffic situations, and curbing indiscipline by road users in Umuahia and environs, the Traffic and Indiscipline Management Agency of Abia State (TIMAAS) Umuahia Command, directs that all motorists and the general public should henceforth comply with the following guidelines;
*. ALL MOTORISTS ARE TO COMPLY WITH ONE SIDE PARKING WITHIN ALL ROADS AND STREETS IN THE CAPITAL CITY AND ITS ENVIRONS.
*. VEHICLES ARE PROHIBITTED FROM PARKING ALONG GOVERNMENT HOUSE AREA AND ENVIRONS STARTING FROM RIDGE CLUB TO IBIAM JUNCTION.
*Banks Operating Within This Environment Are Advised To Make Sure That Their Customers Comply With This Directives And Use Alternative Open Spaces Within The Environment If Their Parking Lots Are Filled.*
*. HEAVY DUTY VEHICLES ARE PROHIBITTED FROM PLYING GOVERNMENT HOUSE AXIS (IBIAM JUNCTION TO RIDGE CLUB). THESE VEHICLES INCLUDE: TIPPERS, TRUCKS, TRAILERS AND LUXIRIOUS BUSES
*. NO PARKING OPPOSITE UBA BANK FROM FACTORY ROAD JUNCTION TO HOTEL ROYAL DAMGRETE EMERGENCY EXIT GATE.
*. NO PARKING/STOPPING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD FROM OPET/WORLD BANK JUNCTION ROAD TILL ACB AGBAZUERE ROAD.
*. VEHICLES LOADING/PARKING WITHIN OKIGWE ROAD BY UBAKALA STREET TRIANGLE JUNCTION SHOULD STOP FORTHWITH AND USE THE DESIGNATED SPACE PROVIDED FOR LOADING AROUND THE ENVIRONS.
*. ALL INTER-CITY BUSES WITHOUT DESIGNATED PARKS POPULARLY KNOWN AS “AKA NA ELU” WHOSE ACTIVITIES USUALLY CAUSE TRAFFIC OBSTRUCTION WITHIN ISI-GATE AND ENVIRONS, CO-OPERATIVE AND ENVIRONS, FMC AND ENVIRONS AND OTHER LOCATIONS ARE ADVISED TO LOOK FOR ALTERNATIVE LOADING BAYS AND CARRY OUT THEIR BUSINESSES.
*. BURNING OF TIRES, WASTES AND OTHER MATERIALS ON GOVERNMENT ROADS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
*. POURING OF REFUSE/WASTES INTO GUTTERS/DRAINAGES, ESPECIALLY DURING RAIN FALL IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
*. THROWING OF DIRTS FROM MOVING VEHICLES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
*. PEDESTRAN DROPING DIRTS WHILE WALKING ON THE ROAD IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
*THIS DIRECTIVES TAKES EFFECT FROM 7TH SEPTEMBER 2020.*
*The general public should note that noncompliance to the above directives, will attract severe punishment, including impoundments of vehicles and arrest of culprits by Officers and Men of TIMAAS and other Security Agencies from the 1st of October, 2020.*
