The Director (South East) Parliamentarian APC Presidential Campaign Council and Abia State Coordinator for Women Tinubu/Shettima Women Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Nkechi Nwaogu has expressed shock over the transition to glory of legal luminary and Insurance mogul, Prof Joe Irukwu at 89.
The Former National Assembly Member, described the death of the former President,Ohaneze Ndi Igbo as bewildering saying that the late Prof Irukwu died when his wisdom and experience were required to move the State, the South East Geopolitical Zone and the country in general forward.
According to the APC Chieftain, Prof Irukwu served the country meritoriously as the pioneer Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Reinsurance Company and founder African Insurance Development Company Limited, rising to the top of the ladder in private and public sector.
“As President Ohaneze Ndi Igbo , he contributed his quota to the development of the South East and tried to enhance the welfare of the people.”
Nwaogu who prayed for God to grant the Insurance supremo eternal rest later sympathized with the Irukwu family, the good people of Amaokwe Item, Abia State, Ohaneze ndi Igbo, the Nigeria Bar Association and the Insurance sector over the irreparable loss urging them to take solace from God.
