One of the virtues that distinguishes Obodoukwu from some other communities is the ability to remember home and expresses kindness despite your village or autonomous community. This virtue has stand out for centuries and continues to be a beacon of light that shines bright, illuminating the path to a brighter future in Obodoukwu Clan.

This kindness has been displayed by an Indegeneous humble Marian Priest of God; Rev Fr (Prof) Augustine Anayochukwu Esiobu based in Overseas but never forgets his home fulfilling the popular saying that “Charity Begins At Home”. Right from his tender age, Anayochukwu was a loving true son of the land from Umuoka village whose maternal home is also in Obodoukwu, Umuagbadagwo to be precise. He wasn’t born with a silver spoon like many of us. He grew up in a poor home, attends government primary and secondary school like so many others but never cease to have constant devotion to our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary. This singular act of devotion differentiates him from his pals at school then and his family encourage him to remain firm in this devotion. No wonder Bro Anayochukwu then was one of the Pioneers that started Block Rosary Crusade then in Obodoukwu according to history in the early 1990’s with support from Sr Mary Oguekemma, the founder of Ave Maria Centre ,Urualla in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State.

After his secondary school education, through his hard work and piety, Bro Anayochukwu finds his way to overseas and started his Priesthood formation in Seminaries. After his ordination as a Priest then in Overseas, he never forgets his home where he grew up. He constantly came home to visit his parents and support Block Rosary Crusade with whatever he had then at St. Mary’s Parish, Obodoukwu. It should be recorded that Rev Fr (Prof) Augustine Anayochukwu Esiobu was the only person who started the Feast of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. God bless you Father and reward you
