It was a memorable day, Tuesday 28th day of November 2023 at Ogwe Central School Asa in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia as the good people of Asa Ancient Kingdom came out in their numbers to celebrate their illustrious son Chief Dr. Dimgba Eruba, the NDDC Commissioner representing Abia State on the board of Niger Delta Development Commission.
The highpoint of the event is the conferment of a Chieftaincy title of Odozi Obodo 1 of Asa by the Asa Council of Traditional rulers on Chief Dimgba Eruba and the official defection of over 100 decampees from other political parties.
In his speech, Chief Eruba praised the Almighty God for making the day a reality, he thanked President Bola Tinubu for the confidence reposed in him by appointing him the NDDC Abia Commissioner, the business mogul urged the people to support the President in the actualization of his renewed hope agenda while appreciating the people that came and maintained that he won’t be found wanting in the course of his duty. He said that the leadership of the NDDC under the able leadership of Chief Samuel Ogbuku has awarded some road contracts in Ukwa namely Imo River – Okohia – Owaza Road, Uzuaku- Umuajaoha – Umuelechi- 144 Battalion Road, Ngwaiyiekwe – Ogwe Road, the commissioner noted that there are Emergency Intervention of Storm damages at Ozatta Community to facilitate the restoration of electricity in the area, while saying that work will commence tomorrow in some of the road contracts, Chief Dimgba used the opportunity to inform the people that NDDC has also awarded the contract to reconnect Ukwa to National Grid Electricity Power supply which is going to start functioning from next month.
The event attracted the presence of notable dignitaries from Asa Community.
