In what many described as the greatest political harvest in Abia in recent years, facts have emerged on how a former Secretary to the Local Government, two term Member of Abia state House of Assembly, former Commissioner and ex – House of Represntatives Member, that represented Aba North and South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uzor Azubuike, popularly called ” IJIRIJI” lured PDP Members from Aba North and South Local Government Areas into the All Progressives Congress ( APC).
Before the mass defection of the PDP members which includes: notable Chieftains, Commissioners, former Local Government Chairmen, Ward Chairmen, Women Leaders, Youth Leaders, former Deputy Chairmen and Local Government councillors, Rt. Hon. Azubuike invited them to an enlarged meeting in his Umuola, Aba residence to convince them to join the ruling party in Nigeria, urging them to get hooked to National politics for the overall interst of Ndigbo.
Hon. Azubuike leveraged on the abysmal performance of the People’s Democratic party ( PDP ) in Abia during the last election, that led to their loss of power to the Labour party and convinced them that the only way they can revive their political career is to join the APC

A source close to the emergency APC political camp said, there are plans for a formal presentation of the defected members in an elaborate ceremony that will witness the presence of the State Working Committee of the party with other APC political gladiators in Abia state.
