At his installation today at the Mother of the Church, Catholic Diocese of Ahiara Mbaise, Imo State, Bishop Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, proclaimed Rev Fr (Dr) Godson Okoro as the vicar general.

Okoro was the administrative secretary of the diocese during the Ahiara Diocese bishop crisis.

The vicar hails from Umuabazu, Lagwa in Okwuato of Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State. He attended St Mary’s Junior Seminary, Umuowa, Orlu., St Peter Claver Minor Seminary, Okpala., and Ikot Ekpene Major Seminary, Cross River State. He obtained Bachelor of Philosophy and Bachelor of Theology and other degrees.

He was ordained a priest in 1995 and since then has worked at various parishes both in and outside Ahiara Mbaise Diocese.

In addition, he has equally bagged multiple educational degrees in various fields, thus, has has distinguished himself in virtually all aspects of his priestly calling.

I am so proud of his elevation as I have known him for more than 45 years ago when he mass server. He was also ahead of me at a Catholic institution called St Peter Seminary Okpala. I can testify his discipline which is as a result of his background as his parents were great disciplinarians who were ardent Catholics.

Fr Okoro, your father, Pa Victor, is really very happy with you, rejoicing and clapping wherever he is., while your mother holidaying overseas is highly elated.

Congratulations and more blessings ahead!!!
