Married Couples have been admonished to make their marriages work by anchoring it on the “word of God”, stressing that they are not joined together on contract basis.

Pastor Uche Awa of the Christ Embassy Church, Library Avenue Umuahia, Abia State, who dropped the hint on Saturday, 15th day of June, 2024 during the Solemnization of Holy Matrimony of Dollaress Aghaerichi Ajuzie and John Ariwa, said marriage is an interesting journey if the couple involved constantly make God their bedrock.

He reiterated that it is easier with God when they believe and build their faith in Him, stressing that things will work out well while advising them not to be afraid of the journey they have embarked on as God has already perfected things for them.

Pastor Awa in his exortation, anchored on Luke chapter 2 verse 21, stressed the importance of the word of God in the life of a believer, advising the Couple that just like Simon in the scriptures anchored his hope on the word of God, they should as well build their home around God for His blessings to be made manifest in their union.

He encouraged them to know that, the journey they have begun is a peaceful one, reminding them that they must start with the word of God and relegate to the background, advice they see or read on social media, saying whatever they understand from the word of God should sustain their union.

Pastor Awa told the couple that there would be challenges in their union, but the paramount thing is boldness and clinging unto the word.

Earlier, the father of the Bride, High Chief Dr. Boniface Ifeanyi Ariekpere, a.k.a Onye Eze La Spain, reminded the couple to understand that marriage is like a parcel, whatever is inside, you live with, just as he enjoined them to tolerate each other despite the differences they might encounter at the early stages of their union, emphasizing that, marriage is not always rosy.
