It has become a regular event in Ukwa West as members of other political parties troop in to embrace the All Progressives Congress.
Today’s turn took place at Ozaa West Ward in the Country Home of Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu where some leaders of PDP in the ward gladly defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
One of strong men of the People Democratic Party who defected was Mr. Uchenna Nwator, who was the Coordinator of OVI Senatorial mandate in Ozaa West and former Personal Assistant to the Governor.
While speaking on behalf of other defectors, Mr Nwator said that they are very happy to be part of the Progressives, that they appreciate the warm reception by the leaders of the party.
He specifically pointed out that APC is a party to be reckoned with having always considers the interest of Asa in all their activities,that his former party (PDP) will know that great men has exited the party.
He, on behalf of others assured the party leaders that their job has started, that they will move to all the nooks and cranies of Ozaa West and fish out all their suppoters for APC, he concluded.
While handing over the symbol of the party(Broom)to the new members, Engr Uruakpa Sterling, who is the Assistant State Secretary of the Party and S.A to NDDC Commissioner on Political Matters encouraged the new members to be steadfast and dedicated,pointing that it’s only a sincere work done when no one is watching that can produce a result, he advised that they should be committed in all the activities of the party,believing in the leadership of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,praying that all the suffering the old members passed through in other to push the party to its higher height at the LGA that these new members will not pass through it. He concluded that Almighty God will hasten their reward.

Responding after the defection, The Chief of Staff to the NDDC Commissioner, Mr Ubani Ogbonna emphasized that the members should be dilligent in their participation at the party level that they will not regret any step taken for the growth of the party, stating more that Hon.Dr.Eruba Dimgba will continue to work at the Commission for the betterment of our people and the party.
With gladness of heart, the three Zonal Leaders(Hon Ezedinachi Kanu, Chief Allwell Faith Izuwa and Hon Chikezie Nwaobia welcomed the new members and inspired them to be committed in the party business.
In his prayers, Hon Mezie Nwaubani prayed to God to strengthen the new members for a zealous commitment and cause them to benefit in this new found family.
Hon Ezedinachi appreciated everyone present and promise to invite the leaders again if other group of people come to join the party.
