This may not be the best of times for the Abia state chapter of the People Democratic Party ( PDP).
Few days after major party chieftains dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress ( APC), and the coming mass exodus from other PDP members to APC in a few weeks time, a reliable source told www.newsmirrorng.com that no fewer than Nine ( 9) members of the state House of Assembly have perfected plans to move to the ruling Labour Party in the state.
Remember that the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP), has majority members in the Abia State House of Assembly, having about 12 members, out of the 24 House of Assembly members across the 24 state constituencies.
When www.newsmirrorng.com called a serving state House of Assembly member ( names withheld), he confirmed the move and justified the defection rumours to be a reality but added that negotiations are in top gear and it will end in a matter of days or few weeks.
He mentioned the nine PDP members that are leaving the party for Labour Party to www.newsmirrorng.com but pleaded we keep the names under seal for now, as there may be last minute changes, in line with the political behavior of this clime.
