He was a father whose death marks the end of an era…was a fearless, detribalized and courageous leader who stood up against injustice and marginalization, and led a life of sacrifice to humanity.’

– Bishop Emeka Nwankpa

Bishop Dr Emeka Nwankpa, the governorship candidate of the Accord Party in the March 18 governorship election and General Overseer of Chapel of Faith Bible Assembly International, has mourned the death of Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife.

In a message of condolence released by the reverend cleric, Bishop Nwankpa described the former governor of Anambra State as a father whose death marks the end of an era. He said that the late octogenarian was a fearless, detribalized and courageous leader who stood up against injustice and marginalization, and led a life of sacrifice to humanity.

Bishop Nwankpa recalled the invaluable fatherly advice he received from the late Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife in the build-up to his quest to serve Abia State as governor.

Bishop Nwankpa prayed to God to grant the Ezeifes, the people of Igboukwu and the Government of Anambra State the fortitude to bear the loss of the colossus.

The late Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, who was born in 1937, served Anambra State as a third republic governor from 2nd January, 1992 to 17th November, 1993 when the late General Sani Abacha overthrew the Ernest Shonekan-led Interim National Government.
