Ahead 2023: Obingwa PDP Stakeholders Donate Vehicles, Cash, Food Items to Prof. Uche Ikonne

The Obingwa PDP stakeholders have donated two Sienna Buses, Bags of rice, bags of stockfish, and cash of 10 million naira to Abia state Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate Prof Uche Ikonne.

Presenting the donations to Prof. Ikonne in his Country home, Agburuke Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North LGA on Monday, the chairman of Obingwa stakeholders Chief Roland Nwakanma, urged Abians to rally around Prof. Ikonne, the PDP governorship candidate to ensure success in the forthcoming general elections.

He said that the Obingwa stakeholders have confidence in the choice of Prof Ikonne as the successor to Governor Ikpeazu and that they will mobilize massively to ensure that Prof Ikonne wins the election and is sworn in on the 29th of May 2023 as the next executive governor of Abia state

In his speech the spokesman of the group Elder Godwin Nna, said, We have decided to extend our hands of fellowship to Prof. Ikonne because we believe that he has the capacity to drive the development of the state aggressively and ensure that every part of the state receives attention, “we have looked at his pedigree, preparedness and his antecedents in public service and we are satisfied that the PDP meant well to have given him the party’s governorship ticket”

He thanked Governor Ikpeazu for his support for Prof Ikonne and encouraged him not to relent in his efforts at ensuring success for the party at all levels during the elections he restated his conviction that Prof. Ikonne and his team will turn around the fortunes of the state and greatly advance the development of the state.

Receiving the donations on behalf of the Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization, the DG Barr. Chinedum Elechi, said that the Ikonne administration will take Abia to a greater destination and thanked Obingwa stakeholders for their magnanimity and support for Prof. Ikonne.

In his speech Barr. Okey Igwe, the running mate to Prof. Ikonne while thanking Obingwa stakeholders for their support and donation said the incoming administration of Prof. Ikonne will not disappoint Abians but will rather make sure every part of Abia receives adequate developmental attention, through the Participatory Governance system that they are proposing.

Prof. Ikonne in his own speech thanked them and the PDP family for finding him worthy at this time, he also thanked Governor Ikpeazu and Abians for believing in his vision, according to Prof. Ikonne I will have no reason not to make sure that Abia comes tops in the development index of states in the country and I have what it takes to achieve it, the foundation has been laid by the present administration and I am assuring Abians that I will fastrack infrastructural and economic development in the state, I am prepared and I have the cognate experience and competence to take on the task of governing the state and achieving success, others who spoke during the event include, Chief Okey ahiwe, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Ike Anyatonwu, ALGON Chairman Abia state, and Barr.
