Ahead 2023: Ibeku People throws weight behind Prof. Uche Ikonne, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji and all PDP Candidates

The Indigenes and Residents of Nkata Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area have pledged their block, undivided and unalloyed support for Prof Eleazar Uche Ikonne as the next Governor of Abia State in the 2023 elections.


They also declared same support for the Speaker and intending member for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji and other PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The declaration was made during the annual Christmas get-together and empowerment at the Country home of Hon Chukwudi Apugo, member representing Ibeku East Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly.

The gathering which witnessed a jubilant mammoth crowd of Indigenes of the three ancestral communities of Nkata Ibeku and all their residents pledged to cast their votes en bloc for Prof Uche Ikonne, particularly in appreciation to Hon Chukwudi Apugo who has always led and represented them very well.

They recalled with joy that Hon Apugo has empowered them every Christmas for the past ten years, tells them the truth and fights for their interests always.
Hon Apugo presented Four big cows, 400 pieces of high quality wrappers and huge sums of money to support the Nkata people for Christmas.

He pledged his support for Prof Uche Ikonne and assured the Nkata people that only Prof Ikonne among his fellow contestants has the statewide acceptability, experience, willpower and knowledge that can lift Abia state to greater heights.

Present at the meeting were the Speaker Abia State House of Assembly Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, Former Deputy Speaker and former Member that represented Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Uzo Azubuike, Former Deputy Speaker and DG Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organisation, Rt Hon Chinedum Elechi, PDP candidate for Ibeku East State Constituency, Mr kelechi Sunny Nwakodo among others.

Earlier in his speech, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji (Ikuku) called on all Abia people to support Prof Uche Ikonne as the next Governor of Abia State. He stated that only Prof Ikonne has a bankable governance programmes and template. He cited the cognate experience and tremendous integrity of Prof Ikonne in public administration acknowledging Ikonne’s excellent performance in Abia state University and Abia Polytechnic Aba as evidence of his competence.

The Speaker warned that Abia, God’s own State cannot be tossed in the hands of toddlers and inexperienced policiticians who will use government office for their selfish ends.

He assured that PDP parades the best candidates and advised Abia voters to avoid any confusion by voting 5 over 5.

In his speech, Rt Hon Uzo Azubuike commended Hon Apugo for good representation of his Constituency and for leading his people to join all well meaning Abians in supporting the Uche Ndi Abia campaigns. Hon Uzo thanked the people of Nkata Ibeku and in deed all Abians who have massively keyed into the Uche Ndi Abia Campaigns that will produce Prof Ikonne as the next Governor of Abia State. He reassured that Prof Ikonne will run an inclusive, transparent, community based equitable government that will restore the pride of Abia people. Hon Uzo Azubuike assured that Prof Ikonne’s concept of Participatory Governance in TIGER Economy will put Power and Wealth in the hands of the people.
Hon Uzo Azubuike specially thanked the Speaker Rt Hon Chinedum Orji for his open testimony on the personality of the PDP Candidate Prof Ikonne and commended him for imparting the lives of his Constituency and Abia youths. He described Ikuku as an effective representative who deserves to be elected into the Green-Chambers and called on Abia electorates to vote for PDP all the way.
