Nigeria is the most populous black nation in the world, and perhaps the most religious nation in the world, yet one of the most backward and underdeveloped nation in the world. What is the problem and where did we get it wrong as blacks?
I have traveled the length and breadth of this country and the only problem I’ve discovered is religion. 99% of Nigerians are either Church or Mosque goers. 70% of this can quote any part of the holy books off heart. Yet, we lack piety, we lack the true practice of what we preach.
Go to the eastern and southern part of the country, churches are just stone throws from our backyards. Churches and Christians are as countless as sand.
Go to the northern and southern part of the country, mosques are just stone throws from our backyards. Mosques and Muslims are as countless as sand.
On Fridays, the Muslims troop out in their multitudes to worship God. On Sundays, the Christians troop out in their multitudes to worship God. Everyone pretending to be most pious and yet, piety lacks in us while corruption, hatred, envy, unforgiving spirit and selfishness fill us to the brim. How can we develop as a Nation or as blacks when we kill and maim one another on the slightest religious provocation? Who did this to the black race?
Saudi Arabia is a predominantly Islamic nation just like the Dubai in UAE, Israel is a predominantly Christian nation just like the US, most European and Asian nations are atheists yet, they are not underdeveloped like the black nations, they are not as corrupt as the black nations, they are more self disciplined and accommodating than the black race.
They brought religion and technology to the black race. However, the black man picked the religion and become or still becoming more fanatical than those who brought the religion, and rejected the technology. Who did this to the black race?
Our educational systems have failed, and are still failing, our roads are bad, hospitals are death zones, power is zero, agriculture is ailing, minerals and mining sectors are in shambles, our leaders are looting our sovereign wealth, everything is in comatose like the Nigeria jaga jaga of Idris Abdulkarim, yet we still call on God as religious people. Our corrupt leaders are either Muslims or Christians. They either go to churches or mosques. In fact, I can imagine the magnanimous edifices devil is building for them in hell for blackmailing God and deliberately deceiving themselves thinking they are deceiving God and man by looting our sovereign wealth dry, subjecting the masses to abject poverty while telling us to hope on God. Who did this to the black race?
Look, God will not come down to build refineries, industries, schools, hospitals and what have you, neither did He approve of corruption and corrupt leaders. Stop annoying God biko!
Black race wake up! Nigeria wake up!! Africa wake up!!!
Being black is not a curse! Who did this to Africa? Who did this to the black race?
Let love lead! Africa shall surely be great if we give back to them their religions and take from them their technology and self discipline, or better still, develop our technology and love one another!
We must stop hiding under the facade of religion to perpetuate evil! Religion has done more harm than good to the black race!
Once again, who did this to the black race?
