WE HAVE NO HAND IN CHIEF ERONDU’S DETENTION – Abia State Government breaks silence

The Abia State Government has finally come out and put to rest the news making the rounds that it has a hand in the detention of Chief Azubuike Erondu, the acclaimed political activists who is said to have been whisked away from Abia state since last week.

Reacting, the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu has put a lie to the insinuations and exonerated the Abia
state government and the led by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of complexity in the arrest of the Obingwa born police officer, turned social crusader.

Chief Okiyi Kalu was emphatic in his submission, “Let me emphatically state that Abia State Government, directly or by proxy, has no hand in the detention of elder Azubuike Erondu. Information available to us suggests that his detention has to do with internal issues.

In case you don’t know, he is a serving police officer”.

Chief Kalu added, “This administration has no record of arresting or detaining critics as we see criticism as very key and desirable in democratic governance.
Even the strong critic of this government, nobody has ever been harassed or threatened”.

The information Boss stated that, the state Government will never get involved in the arrest and detention of a police officer for criticizing the Government and admonished Abians to get their facts right before jumping into conclusions.
