A devastating tragedy has befallen the family of Adekolure Idowu Glory, a recent graduate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), who was brutally attacked, raped, and murdered by unknown assailants. The 22-year-old had returned to the school to process her clearance and was heading home on Thursday, June 13, 2024, when the horrific incident occurred.

Her lifeless body was found near her family’s home in the Iyowa community, Benin, Edo State, with visible signs of a brutal beating and rape. The gruesome discovery has left her family in a state of shock and grief, with her brother appealing for help to bring the perpetrators to justice.

In a heartfelt plea on social media, her brother wrote: “Justice for my younger sister Adekolure Idowu Glory, who was raped and killed in Iyowa Community, Benin, Edo State, on her way back from school (UNIBEN). She had gone for her clearance and her corpse was found close to her mother’s house… Please help us seek justice for my kid sister, who had just graduated from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in April 2024 and was still processing her projects and clearance. She was only 22 years old… Her lifeless body has been deposited at UBTH mortuary with the help of the Nigerian police from Ekiadolor division. She was beaten, raped, and killed. Please, Nigerians, come to my rescue. My mum can’t hold herself together.”

The family is now seeking assistance to identify the killers and ensure they face justice for their heinous crimes. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and the family’s plea for help has sparked an outpouring of support and condolences.
