Even the Biblical teachings of Jesus Christ acknowledged the fact that a prophet has no honour at home (Matthew 13:57).

However, one man stands tall to brace the odds as he is being honored at home, and  that man is the empowerment and infrastructural development guru, Mr. Ncheta Elvis Okoroafor Omerekpe.

Recall that when Jesus taught in the synagogue in his hometown, Nazareth, those in attendance, obvious of his history, where both astonished and offended by his teachings as he healed the sick and performed other miracles.

His people could not come to terms with the son of Mary, whose father, Joseph was a mere carpenter.

When Samuel set out on a mission to anoint a new king for Israel, he already had a mindset to chose the oldest son of Jesse, thinking he would naturally become God’s choice. But, God had a different agenda and chose David, the youngest, who was busy attending to herds of sheep in the bush.

Umuakwu Nsulu has been a land of great men and women. Umuakwu had produced great men in the time past, but the lot fell on Ncheta Omerekpe, the youngest son of Dee Friday Omerekpe  to change the narrative of the once rustic shanty village – now an emerging SMALL LONDON with good asphalt roads, modern health centre, skills acquisition centre, model primary and secondary schools, street lights, solar water borehole in all the clans of the community, empowerment of women, youths and the elderly, scholarship scheme and character moulding in line with the United states charter on Human Rights – a great achievement by only one man.

To be a good servant and leader, you don’t need the anointing of men, that is where we get it all wrong in this part of the world.

Even Jesus Christ was born without fanfare, in a manger, and in a small unimportant town of Nazareth and his profession is a lowly carpentry.

The take home lesson here is that, God is not man and does not see as man sees. While man look at the outward appearance, God looks at the heart.

Today, the 26th day of December, 2019, all roads will lead to the quiet community of Umuakwu Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia state as they play host to their illustrious son,  Ncheta Omerekpe in a grand civic reception, under the umbrella of Umuakwu Progressive Union (UPU) at Umuakwu Community School playground, Mbaraogbom by 12 noon.

Space may not permit me into a historic excursion of all he has been doing for his community but this unassuming gentleman has done so much in the past 10 to 14 years, but remains calm, to the glory of God.

He has been helping the poor and needy, his infrastructural development strides are legendary and no individual Abian, dead or alive has achieved such a solo effort.

Yet, he has not and does not hold any elective position in government.

You are invited. I will be there – live !
