Prof. Ikonne awards scholarship to 7 Children of an indigent woman in Amakama – Commissions bungalow built for her family

The PDP gubernatorial candidate in Abia State, Professor Uche Ikonne has awarded scholarships to the Seven children of an indigent woman and her husband in Amakama.


Professor Ikonne made this known while commissioning a modern 3-bedroom bungalow built by Umuahia South coordinator of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organisation, Hon. Kelechi Aguiyi for Mrs Mrs Uzoma Chibundu and her husband, in Amakama Village in Umuahia South LGA.

Speaking while commissioning the building, Professor Ikonne extolled Hon. Kelechi Aguiyi for his philanthropic gestures to his people, saying that time is coming when the people will also repay him for his kindness to them.


He also noted that he is committed to ensuring that the welfare of Abians will be priorities under his watch.
He congratulated Mrs Uzoma Chibundu and her husband on their new home and prayed God to bless them.

Earlier in their speeches, the donor, Hon. Kelechi Aguiyi and the member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon. Barr Jerry Uzosike, thanked Professor Ikonne for honouring their invitation to commission the house saying to him, “we are merely following your footsteps in reaching out to the needy and bringing succour to the people”

Responding, the beneficiary, Mrs Uzoma Chibundu, was full of praises to God “for remembering me today, I am speechless that such generosity could be showered upon me. I can only pray for God’s blessings upon you all” she concluded and prayed to God to grant Professor Ikonne victory in the coming election.

Highlights of the event were presentation of keys to the buildings to the beneficiary by Professor Ikonne, as well as a special prayer for his victory.

The Deputy Governorship Candidate, Hon Phillip Okey Igwe-Esq, the DG State Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Elechi, and members of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organisation were present during the occasion.
