It was a gleeful moment in Umuezeke, Asa North, Ukwa West LGA as top members of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) join the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The event took place in the country home of Engr. Uruakpa Chinwendu Sterling at Umuezeke Village of Asa North in Ukwa West Local Government Area.
Those who officially defected to the All Progressives Congress are Hon.Goodluck Nwaobiwe(The former Executive LGA
Chairman),
Hon Chikezie Nwaobia,
Hon Ebenezer Uruakpa (The former Leader in the Ukwa West Legislative Council), Elder Ephraim Nwala, Elder Friday Njoku, Mr. Chibuike Lazarus.

Hon. Goodluck Nwaobiwe reaffirmed that he is satisfied in the good work of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,that the President Tinubu is taking his time to select quality men in his appointment
‘The appointment of Chief Eruba Dimgba is divine,Chief Dimgba is a God fearing man who God sent to Ukwa West and Abia at this time to deliver the devidend of Democracy to the people through his office’ he stated. He went further and said that APC and PDP are always at loggerheads in every election but that they have joined the party in order to strengthen APC the more at the Ward level.
Hon Chikezie Nwaobia stated unequivocally that he loves the style of developmental projects NDDC is bringing in the area,that the Government of APC is performing more than expected that APC will be every house hold party in Asa North Community shortly.
Hon Ebenezer Uruakpa said that the All Progressives Congress is the rulling party that doesn’t segregate which carries everyone along, that its a party that does not have bitterness among them.
He added that he is in the party to appreciate the good things the party is doing at the State and Local Government
Elder Friday Njoku and Elder Ephraim Nwala opined that Engr Sterling Uruakpa has shown capacity as a man,advicing that everyone should rally round and support him in time like this, that APC has really performed very well in the LGA by providing good roads and electricity.
In a seperate speech, Elder Ephraim Nwala also expressed his happiness in joining the APC quoting him “Thanks we have left where we are, as we use broom to sweep dirts, let’s use the broom to sweep every bad governance, he concluded
Chibuike Lazarus expressed his confidence in the leadership of the party that he has abandoned PDP for APC.
They all agreed to bring all their supporters by next two weeks to be part of this progressive movement.
The Host, Engr Uruakpa appreciated all present and encouraged them to be up and doing in the party business, hinting that there is no going back in support of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu lead Government and also informed all present to give the Abia Rep on the Board of NDDC maximum support that Dr Eruba Dimgba is God’s sent who has started using his God given wisdom in his office
