Nollywood actress, Etinosa Idemudia has revealed how she had to indulge in illicit substances to avoid the abuses of her estranged husband.

According to the actress, getting married at 22 meant she was naive with her husband declaring himself as lord over her

The thespian disclosed this in a chat with popular media personality, Chude Jideonwo.

She recounted how terrified she used to be whenever her husband came home.

Etinosa said, “It [the domestic violence] got to a point where I was on drugs. Whenever he [my ex-husband] is coming home, normally as a woman you should be happy that your husband is coming home but I would just starched up and doped up so that no matter what he says, no matter what he’s doing, I’m just looking at him. Just so that there would be peace.

The Edo-born actress said she eventually left the marriage after her ceaseless praying and fasting didn’t change her husband.

She said, “I was green, I no know anything. I was a mumu. I was 22 when I got married. My ex-husband told me that ‘I’m not your friend, I’m your lord.”

Etinosa Idemudia is a Nigerian actress, social media influencer and filmmaker.

She is best known for her online comedy skits which she began producing and sharing, first on her instagram channel featuring various Nollywood actors including Daniel K Daniel.

She is also known for her break-out role as Amanda in the sitcom Chairman and her first feature film production The Washerman, which after the release of its trailer, experienced massive anticipation from her fans.

Etinosa Precious Idemudia, popularly known as Etinosa Idemudia, was born on 9th March. Etinosa Idemudia’s father is Sylvester Idemudia and her mother is Patricia Idemudia.

In 2013, upon discovering Instagram Videos, Etinosa began producing comedy skits, which she shared on the social media platform.

The skits enjoyed rave reviews, bringing her relative success in the Nigerian entertainment industry, which culminated in her winning the award for Best Online Comic Act at the 2016 Scream Awards.

In 2016, Etinosa enrolled at the Royal Arts Academy, Lagos, Nigeria, where she obtained a Diploma in Performing Arts, after which she quit her engineering job to pursue a full-time career in entertainment.

Her first movie role was a minor cameo appearance in A Little White Lie produced by Emem-Isong.

Since then, she has gone on to feature in a number of notable Nollywood movies and television series including Devil in Agbada, Blood of Enogie, The Call, Chairman, Corpershun and Love in the Wrong Places.

In 2017, she won the award for Best Actress at the 48 Hours Film Project for her performance in the short film Scheme.

She has worked alongside with some Nollywood actors including Sound Sultan, Ik Ogbonna, Mofe Duncan, Chris Okagbue, Jaywon, Sani Danja, Bryan Okwara, Frank Donga, Judith Audu, Sexy Steel, Stephen Damian, Mercy Isoyip and many more.

She attended Victory International School, Warri after which proceeded to Cambridge International School, Warri and Igbinedion Education Center, Benin where she obtained her WAEC Certificate.

Etinosa Idemudia graduated in 2011 as a Computer Engineer from Covenant University.
