The popular Akinjagunla area in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State was on Sunday thrown into confusion, following the death of a middle aged man who was said to have slumped and died after he was allegedly involved in sex romp with a woman friend at a popular hotel in the town.
It was gathered that the deceased who was said to be a civil servant died in one of the hotel rooms where he had lodged with his female partner.
Although the identity of the woman was yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, sources said that the woman is a wife of a popular landlord in one of the streets in the area.
A source said ”What I can say is that the man died in the hotel room after having sex with the woman said to be his woman friend laced with thunderbolt.
“The woman raised the alarm after realizing that the man collapsed and the manager of the hotel, together with some residents of the area rushed to the scene and made frantic efforts to rescue the man but he was later confirmed dead,” the source added.
The management of the hotel, it was gathered reported the incident to Yaba Divisional Police station in the town and police officers stormed the hotel, after which they evacuated the lifeless body of the deceased to the state specialist hospital, Ondo.
A visit to the area revealed residents of the street standing in groups discussing the development in hush voices,
Similarly, officials of the anti-crime unit of the state police command attached to the station were seen evacuating the body of the deceased to the morgue.
When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Yaba Police division, Mr Moses Adeduro was said to have gone out for an official engagement in the town.
But a senior police officer in the station who did not want his name mentioned confirmed the incident, disclosing that the woman friend of the deceased and the Manager of the hotel have been invited for interrogation.
He hinted that full investigations on the matter have commenced to unravel the circumstances leading to the death of the man.
He informed that the woman who had sex with the deceased has been arrested by the police.
