The Transition Committee Chairman, Isuikwuato local government area, Dr Osita Igbe has assured Management of the Council that no stone will be left unturned towards ensuring that the Council is repositioned for greatness and requested all hands to be on deck towards its realization.
Speaking during a meeting he held with the Head of service and other Heads of Department of Isuikwuato local government area in his office at Mbalano recently, Dr Osita Igbe, who reiterated that no meaningful success could be recorded by his administration without the collective responsibility of Management, however enjoined all to come up quality suggestions, ideas, and superior opinions that could facilitate productivity, asserting that he run an all inclusive leadership with open door policy, and will always appreciate their inputs.
The Counsel Boss, speaking further, intimated the management that more emphasis would be laid on Internally Generated Revenue of the Council to complement the local government allocation towards giving the people of the council much needed democracy dividends, requesting the Heads of Departments to look inward and ensure the proper utilization of all revenue windows of their respective departments, while he used the occasion to declare open the 2020 revenue year with the promise to reward all hardworking and outstanding staff of the local government to encourage greater productivity.
Dr Igbe who doubles as the Abia State ALGON Secretary, further presented to the Management his administration’s blueprints aimed at changing the old narratives, and as well intimated them of his resolve to implement to its fullest the Governor’s directive of ensuring that all on going Projects embarked upon by the Councils previous Chairmen are complete before embarking on new ones, reminding all Departmental Heads handling government Projects to come up relevant documentations of such projects for necessary evaluations and possible actions.
Responding on behalf of Management, the Head of service, Isuikwuato local government area, Mr Chukwuma Onwunle, (JP), appreciated the Council Chairman for the laudable and visionary blueprints of his administration aimed at fostering development, assuring that the Council’s Management have resolved to work at the same pace with his administration to guarantee efficiency, probity and accountability in the affairs of Isuikwuato local government staff, requesting all Heads of Departments to brace up to the challenge and prevail on staff under them to always remain assiduous to duty.
In a vote of thanks, the Treasurer, Mrs Chinyere Maureen Amaechi, who applauded the Council Boss for some innovations aimed at improving the Internally Generated Revenue of the Council, also used the opportunity to convey to the public the Management directive of cancellation of all revenue contracts with agents, and directed former revenue agents still in possession of government receipts and stamps to return them immediately failure which will attract sanctions.
