The Member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Hon Ginger Obinna Onwusibe, has presented the debate, advocating for the establishment of a Federal Medical Center in Isiala Ngwa.
Presenting the bill, Hon. Onwusibe opined that due to the huge population of Isiala Ngwa and environs, it has become imperative for such a medical facility to be located within the region as it will provide quicker access to medicare to Isiala Ngwa and neighbouring communities.
He also cited that the people of Isiala Ngwa journey several kilometers to get access to qualitative health care in the only Federal Medical Center in the state, noting that lack of such establishment has led to a surge in the number of preventable deaths.
He urged the house to rally behind this bill which will not only fortify our healthcare system but also is an investment in the well-being of our citizens.
