One of Abia foremost politicians and a founding member of PDP in Abia state, who would later become APGA Governorship Candidate in 2011 general elections, and later returned to PDP, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba has written a letter to Abia PDP leaders over exclusion from party activities.

The letter addressed to the state Chairman reads :-

The State Chairman People’s Democratic Party
Abia state

Dear Chairman

Request for Explanation Regarding Exclusion from party positions, National Conventions and Caucus Meetings

Dear Chairman,

We are writing to express our concern regarding the continuous exclusion of our leaders and members from participation in the executive positions of the party at all levels, as well as non-invitation to state and national conventions, including the recent exclusions from caucus meetings held in Umuobiakwa and Umuahia respectively.

These exclusions designed to diminish our leaders and persons, contradict relevant sections of the PDP constitution, especially section 22(1), and ridicules the understanding established during our merger in 2017, commonly referred to as the “Ntigha Accord”.

Worthy of mention is the undeniable fact that some of our leaders double as founding members of the PDP, financiers, and defenders of ethos of the party right from inception in 1998.

As national and state leaders of our former party, APGA, bona fide members of the Changeabia Organisation with affiliate groups, we find these violations and exclusions disrespectful, unacceptable and detrimental to our individual and collective political growth, that of the party, and the established spirit of unity and cooperation between the two parties.

We hereby request a satisfactory explanation for these behaviours and ongoing exclusions. We require an undertaking for non-occurence in future, which must reach the secretariat within fourteen (14) days from the date of this letter. Failure to provide a satisfactory response will enable us reconsider our alliance with the party, and further consider offers at our disposal, including option of self-determination.

We urge you to address this matter with the seriousness it deserves to uphold the principles of fairness and inclusivity within our party.

Sincerely Yours,

Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba
Governorship candidate
Founder, Changeabia Organisation
