Former Doma United striker Charles Chibuike, a lookalike of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, is optimistic of playing with or against the Napoli man after meeting him earlier this year.

Chibuike became popular in the Nigeria Premier Football League last season after he scored on his league debut for Doma, which attracted attention to his striking semblance with Osimhen.

After about a year of also craving to meet Osimhen, both men finally met in Qatar when the Eagles striker was heading to camp for the country’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations preparations in Abu Dhabi.

In a short video posted by Chubuike, Osimhen also admitted to their physical semblance.

“I have met my twin,” Osimhen said.

Chibuike told newsmen the conversation he had with the reigning African Player of The Year.

“He told me he’s been seeing my posts and updates about football but he’s been very busy. He gave me his phone to enter my Instagram handle and he began to follow me as well. He asked about my current club status, my plans and told me to keep up with him as well,” Chibuike told newsmen.

“Meeting him was surreal and I have always promised myself not to bug him at that moment and I’m glad he admitted to have noticed me a long time ago too. I’m sure we will meet again, maybe even play with or against him,” Chibuike added.

After gaining attention with his looks in 2023, Chibuike in an exclusive interview with newsmen spoke about his admiration for Osimhen and how a lot of people mistake him for the Napoli striker.

“I really want to score many goals just like Osimhen scores spectacular goals from impossible angles. I will be more focused next time,” Chibuike told newsmen.

“Everyone thinks I’m Osimhen. Countless times every day when I step out, people call me Osimhen. For instance, we checked into a hotel for our FA Cup game in Abuja, a guy saw me and started screaming. He didn’t leave me until he took pictures with me.”
