An attempt by the candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25th 2023 Senatorial election in Abia Central, Senator Darlington Nwokocha to review the court verdict that nullified his election suffered a major setback today as the Court of Appeal Sitting in Abuja has dismissed a Motion for Review filed by him seeking to review the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Owerri Division Sitting in Lagos, that declared Distinguished Senator Austin Akobundu as the duly elected Senator for Abia Central Senatorial District.
The Court awarded a fine of five (5) million naira against Darlington Nwokocha and his Counsel to be paid to Distinguished Senator Akobundu and the People’s Democratic Party.
