The Ugwunagbo Local Government Secretariat, Abia state is now under lock and Key as workers demand for the payment of their four months salary arrears.
Some of the workers expressed worry over the ugly development as they don’t even know who to approach to channel their plight over the issue
In a boldly written demand pasted in front of the Local Government Secretariat, the workers asked for their pay, insisting they are not ” Ghost workers” as being labelled by the state Government
Recall that there are no Executive LGA Chairmen or Transition Committee members in all the 17 LGAs of Abia state
The Head of service ( HOS ) to the Local Government Areas are said to be directing the aggrieved workers to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy, Chief Uzor Nwachukwu
An unconfirmed report by the opposition in the state had accused Dr. Alex Otti of having in his custody, the payment seal of all the 17 LGAs councils in the state, giving him the infamous status of a Sole Administrator in a democratic governance.
