The crisis rocking Abia state YPP has not yet abated as 14 out of the 17 LGA Chairmen, arising from a meeting in Umuahia, Abia state capital, issued a communique, affirming the suspension of Hon. Nelcinn Chiemezuo Uluocha as the state Chairman, and in the same vien, upholding the appointment of the Acting State Chairman, Comrade Uzodinma Nwoko.
In a letter made available to www.newsmirrorng.com, addressed to the National Chairman of the party, through the National Secretary, stated the position of Abia party leaders, which accordingly to them, aligns with the position of the party Constitution.

AFFIRMATION OF THE SUSPENSION AND VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE OF ABIA STATE CHAIRMAN OF YOUNG PROGRESSIVES PARTY ABIA STATE -HON ULUOCHA NELCINN CHIEMEZUO BY THE STATE WORKING COMMITTEE (SWC).
We, under the umbrella of the Local Government Chairmen of Young Progressives Party Abia, state hereby affirm the suspension & vote of no confidence on Hon Nelcinn Uluocha
It is regretebly disheartening that a state chairman of our party will accept the appointment as Special Adviser on Revenue & Policy Reforms to the Transition Committee Chairman of Umuahia North local Government Area of Abia state . Ordinarily,we would have allowed it to be swept under the carpet if the appointment was from an ordinary member of the party, but this is a state chairman per se. This is a confirmation of his incessant romance with other political parties & a compensation of ‘his deeds’ during the just concluded elections.
Over time,we have discovered with utmost dissatisfaction the poor managerial inefficiencies of Hon Nelcinn Uluocha & his reckless approaches in upholding the principles & tenets of the constitution of our great party .
Recall that YPP is the leading opposition party in the state who, amidst all odds came third during the Governorship election & to our credits,secured two(2) state house of Assembly seats in the state. With these giant strides,we are optimistic that YPP will lead our state come 2027 but certainly can not be left under the leadership of a carefree man who sees the party & her members as forgone alternatives
In view of these coupled with the radio interview on Flo FM days ago,Hon Nelcinn Uluocha bent on retaining both his appointment as SA to the TC chairman as well as the state party chairman. To an extent, YPP has become a laughing stuff as party faithfuls & her admirers now see YPP Abia state as ‘childish’ party owing to the disgruntled behaviour of the state chairman.
We wish to commend the tireless efforts of the State Working Committee for their prompt intervention in suspending Hon Nelcinn Uluocha. By their action,the image of the party is redeemed.
We, therefore, allign ourselves with the bold decision of the state working committee over the suspension Hon Nelcinn Uluocha and reaffirm and uphold the appointment of Comr. Nwoko Uzodinma Emmanuel, as Acting State Chairman who, by all standards, has the required knowledge & experience to pilot the affairs of the party.
We will continue to pledge our unalloyed support to the leadership of the party. Accept the assurances of our highest esteem.
