It is remarkable to note that Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC is determined to make a difference with whom the cap fits, chief Eruba Dimgba.
In few weeks of assumption of office by the federal republic commissioner representing Abia state on the governing board of NDDC has made the people to understand that leadership by proxy either elected or appointed has deprived certain constituents the dividend of democracy because in the past NDDC was accused or rated of not leaving upto expectations for it’s abysmal performance.
But today, the management crew and the board members has proved that NDDC remains an interventionist agency whose duties are to creating solutions to bewildered economic and social condition of the people of Niger Delta Region.
In view of the above, Chief Eruba Dimgba has proved to the nation that the initial purpose of the formation of NDDC remains intact, yesterday, Abia State NDDC Commissioner, Chief Dimgba Eruba flagged off the construction of the 18 Kilometers Uzuaku Okohia-Owaza- Imo River Bridge Road and Uzuaku-Umuelechi-Umuajoha -144 battalion Road which is among the numerous projects NDDC is going to embarked in Abia State .
In his speech during the flagoff ceremony, Chief Dimgba urged the people to reciprocate the kind gesture of the NDDC by supporting President Bola Tinubu in his renewed hope agenda. While appreciating the Chairman of NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogboku encouraged the people to work harmoniously with the contractors to deliver a quality project and on time as well.
In his own speech, MD of the construction company thanked the NDDC for finding them worthy to embark in the project and promised to deliver a good job within the time frame
The highpoint of the event was the official flag off of the project by Chief Eruba Dimgba.
Recall that on Tuesday the good people of Asa Zone B irrespective of party affiliation came out in their numbers to confer a chieftaincy title of Odozi Obodo Asa on Chief Eruba Dimgba. In his speech during the grand reception in his honour at Ogwe Central School, the NDDC Commissioner disclosed that the NDDC Board is going to construct several road projects and reconnect Ukwa to National Grid.
