Abia Government Distributes Federal Government Palliatives To State Civil Servants To Cushion Economic Hardship… APC Chieftain hails President Tinubu

Gov. Alex Otti led Abia State Government has started the Federal Government of palliatives to Abia Civil servants in grades level 1 to 7 to ameliorate their suffering.

Before the commement of the distribution, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu, had disclosed after State Executive Council (SEC) meeting that Abia state government had taken delivery of 24,000 bags of 25kg rice from the Federal Government, with 12,071 bags allocated for distribution in the initial phase.

According to kanu, an additional 36,000 bags will follow for civil servants in grades level 8 to 10.

Kanu stated that the move is aimed at alleviating citizens’ challenges, particularly after the recent fuel subsidy removal, saying more items are coming from the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration, including maize and garri, expressing optimism about their timely arrival.

“We have about 663,000 Metric Tones of Maize which translates to about 13,260 bags of 25kg each. There’s also 79.9 Metric Tones of garri which translates to about 3,196 bags of 25kg each,, kanu told newsmen in Umuahia, Abia state capital.

Contributing, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Policies and Interventions, Rev. Fr. Christian Anokwuru, expressed confidence in the timely arrival of federal government palliatives

Just as stated above, the Abia state government has began the distribution of Federal Government palliatives to the state. A release signed Mrs Ngozi Queen Obioma PhD, Abia state Head of Service had invited Chairmen and Secretaries of Welfare Associations of some MDAs for the collection of their PALLIATIVE (RICE) for workers on salary grade levels 01-07, which commenced last week Friday, April 12, 2024 as follows:-

In the same vein, Abia APC Chieftain, a former Commission for Finance in Abia state also former APC 2023 governorship aspiration, Chief Obinna Eze Oriaku ( Ekwedike) has praised President Bola Tinubu for coming to aid of Abia civil servants, to help them cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal, while urging them to be patient with the Tinubu APC led administration as efforts are being made to stabilize the economy, citing the reduction in dollars, and the reduction in gas as clear indicators that the economic policies of the present administration will benefit Nigerias at last.

Our correspondent, who monitored the distribution of Federal Government palliatives to Abia civil servants said it was a successful exercise.
