Former Special Adviser to ex President Goodluck Jonathan on Technical Matters, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo on Tuesday said he dumped his former political umbrella, All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA because of his disqualification.
Nwankpo was among the five candidates disqualified from contesting the governorship primary of APGA by the National Working Committee, NWC of the party on reason that he had not stayed up to 18 months in the party
Speaking with journalists after his screening exercise in his new party, African Democratic Congress, ADC, the former Special Adviser said he chose ADC because he would be fairly treated.
“I chose ADC because it is a well founded party. The national chairman of the party has an amazing reputatipn for being a man that holds unto those things that I believe. Like Anambra State needs integrity, societal purpose and focus.
“Because I respect the governor of the stste, i urged all APGA faithful to stay on with the what the governor wants. I couldn’t continue with the environment after the primary, so I decided to respect my relationship with the gpvernor and move on to another political party”, Nwankpo added.
Reacting on the development, the National Chairman of ADC, Chief Okey Nwosu, assured the aspirant that the party under his leadership would do everything politically possible to ensure the party emerges victorious come November 6, 2021.
