In continuation of inspection tours and monitoring of projects of the ADP in Abia state the Program Manager and his team has on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st January respectively, visited ADP facilities in Abia south zone of the state.
In her welcome speech the Zonal Manager ADP Aba zone Mrs Oluchi Awa, with her jubilant crowd of workers, said that the zone covers seven (7) local government Areas.
She welcomed the team and conducted them round to all the facilities under her command and appealed to the Programme Manager to use his good office to tackle the problems of dilapidation and encroachment facing the zone.
She expressed her total support to the amiable Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu PhD, and thanked the Governor for appointing Hon Israel Amanze aka Izybest who she described as a round peg in a round hole and a very big name in Agriculture as the ADP Programme Manager.
In the areas visited which include Isiala Nteke Autonomous Community in Ukwa West, Okpuala Umuugwor and Aba zonal HQs
the Program Manager expressed satisfaction on the level of reception accorded to the them. He also expressed dissatisfaction with the concentration of extension workers in the urban areas thereby taking into negligence the rural areas which according to him is very important in the ADP Programs.
The Programme Manager said he will tackle abandonment of Agro services centres and said he will carry host communities along to revamp the stations.
The team also paid a homage to the traditional institutions in Okpuala
Umugwor Community in Osisioma Ngwa LGA. and Isiala Nteke Autonomous Community
in Ukwa West LGA.
Addressing, the team the Crown Prince of Isiala Nteke Autonomous Community Prince Precious Nana alongside the Eze in council said that all the lands donated to the ADP were not fully utilized and all the promises made to his community were never kept by govt and Liberation Farms and expressed the hope that the present ADP management led by the highly renowned Agriculturist, Hon Chief Israel Amanze (Izybest), will live up to their promises.
The reception featured welcome songs by the staff and displays.
