2023: Jubilation In Abia As Isiala Ngwa North Youths Drum Support For Prof. Ikonne In Mega Rally

It was an atmosphere of jubilation on October 20, 2023, as PDP stakeholders, opinion moulders, youths and who-is-who in Isiala Ngwa North LGA gathered to witness a mega declaration in favour of Prof. Uche Ikonne for governor in 2023 by members of the Isiala Ngwa North Youth Congress.

Speaking at the event held at the Umuomaiukwu Nsulu Primary School field, the president, Isiala Ngwa North Youth Congress, Comrade Chuks Njoku disclosed that Isiala Ngwa North youths were fully in support of Prof. Ikonne’s governorship ambition in the state and will continue to work towards actualizing his mandate.

ComradeNjoku while describing Ikonne as an intelligent and astute administrator who has carved a niche for himself both in academics and medical profession, also noted that he stood tall above his rivals based on his antecedents.

He further enjoined Isiala Ngwa North people and Abians at large to remain resolute in their faith in the PDP, obtain their PVCS, support and vote massively for Ikonne and all PDP candidates in the next year’s general elections.

Contributing, the PDP standard bearer for Abia Central Senatorial District, Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd), the PDP candidate for Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency, Prof. A.C.B. Agbazuere and the PDP candidate for Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Chief Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu while describing the event as apt also called on the people to shun selective pattern of voting and cast their votes massively for all PDP candidates for quality representation.

Earlier in his welcome address, the chairman of the occasion, Mr Victor Azumara, described youths as an integral part of any society whose roles in nation building cannot be overemphasized.

Responding, the PDP governorship candidate, Ikonne, commended the leadership and members of Isiala Ngwa North Youth Congress for their forthrightness in organizing the mega declaration in support of his ambition even as he promised to run an all inclusive government where Abia youths would be given their pride of place if elected.

Prof. Ikonne also thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his commitment and sustained support at ensuring that the next governor emerges from Isiala Ngwa North in line with the policy of equity, fairness and justice as well as charged them to remain united and continue working as an indivisible entity towards actualizing total victory for the party at the polls.

Correspondent reports that the mega declaration which featured goodwill messages from the Commissioner for Youth Development, Chief Charles Eseonu and other stakeholders, paper presentation by Prof. Sam Agu, decoration of Prof. Ikonne and presentation of gift items to him by the youth congress and presentation of awards to deserving personalities while the DG, Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization, Chief Chinedum Elechi and members of the Campaign Organization accompanied Prof. Ikonne to the event.
