The Gubernatorial Candidate of PDP in Abia State, Chief Okey Ahiwe has reiterated that the legacies of the Late Prof Uche Ikonne will not only be maintained but that his all manifestoes will be implemented to the latter. Chief Ahiwe said this, when select members of the UCHE NDI ABIA YOUTH ASSEMBLY (UNAYA) which is a pet foundation of Dr. Uche Ikonne paid him an endorsement visit at his Ntigha country home at the wee hours of today.
Continuing, the PDP Governorship hopeful, promised that the fourty percent youth inclusiveness as proposed by the Late Ikonne’s manifesto is non-negotiable, as youths are the fulcum of any successful Government. Having got the blessings of the Ikonne family and having being a close ally of the deceased there was no gainsaying the fact that there’d be any missing link anywhere. Hence the need for all hands to be on deck for more organic support for all PDP flag bearers, Chief Ahiwe Concluded.
Earlier, the State Director of Media and Publicity, Comrade Wisdom Anucha hinted the Gubernatorial Candidate that UNAYA, has its membership across all the wards and polling units in Abia, while maintaining that the group is an agglomeration of intellectual Eggheads. Contributing, the State Organizing Secretary, Comrade Justice Ejikoma alongside Barr. Ugochukwu Njoku described Chief Ahiwe’s pedigree as “Primus Interpers”
Highlight of the event was a minute silence in honour of the deceased estwhile PDP Guber Candidate and Grand Patron of UNAYA and the endorsement of Chief Okey Ahiwe as the sole Gubernatorial Candidate of UNAYA, which was done by the President, Engr. Harley Onuoha as he handed over the UNAYA flag to the PDP Guber Candidate.
The event attracted the presence of UNAYA Excos, The DG of Abia PDP Governorship Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Elechi, a former Commissioner for Agriculture and former member of the Green Chambers, Rt. Hon Uzo Azubuike, Dr. Ikechukwu Nwabekee amongst other dignatories.
