The leaders and people of Azueke Autonomous Community in Umuahia North LGA have assured the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and the PDP standard-bearer for Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji FNSE of total support at the February 25th polls.

While at the palace of the traditional ruler of the community, HRM Eze Dr Okechukwu Ihehunrundu, Agu Ukwu N’echemba 1, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji said he was offering himself for service in order to greatly improve the life of the people through quality legislative interventions and attracting of people-oriented projects to the people of Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency. He thanked them forbtheir support in the past especially to his father, and solicited their backing and votes on the 25th of February.

Earlier, the royal father appreciated the Speaker for the homage paid him and his people, and emphasised on the decision of the community as a whole to support and vote for him at the polls.

From there, the Speaker’s entourage moved to the community’s Ndume Otuka Community Secondary School where a mammoth crowd was already waiting for him. Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji went round the field to acknowledge cheers from the people and exchanged pleasantries with them in an atmosphere of warmth and conviviality.

After the welcome address by the President-General of Azueke Autonomous Community, Hon Tony Onyeweaku, in which he reiterated the community’s decision to adopt Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji FNSE as their sole candidate for Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency, the Speaker reiterated that his motivation for vying for the seat of Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency was to deploy his already acquired legislative skills to make sound laws for the people, and his negotiating expertise to attract critical infrastructure to the constituency.

He informed the gathering that he has decided to graduate his school intervention programmes to secondary schools and allow the incoming Members of the State House of Assembly to take over the care for primary schools in the constituency.

He also highlighted the Abia State Female Rights Law which he sponsored and ensured its passage, saying it was an indication of how dear the women are to him, promising to do more for them.

He recalled his numerous water and electrification projects, youth and women empowerment, and other projects he has embarked upon in various communities and promised to do more when elected to the National Assembly.

He therefore asked the respective villages present to itemise their most pressing needs in order of priority in a document that will serve as a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between him and them, and also for his seamless planning and project execution in the localities concerned.

He thanked them for adopting him as their sole candidate for the February 25th polls and promised not to disappoint them.

Presenting the PDP candidate for Umuahia East Constituency, Hon Kelechi Nwakodo, to the people, the Speaker said they should consider the energy, verve and progressive ideas that come with youthfulness and vote for him, as he looks well prepared for the task.

The Director-General of Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji’s campaign council, Pastor Emeka Inyamah, the Coordinator, Alhaji Suleiman Ukandu, thr PDP Chairman of Umuahia North LGA, Hon Miller, a former commissioner in the state, Engr Emma Nwabuko, Director-General of the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Hon Eze Okwulehie among others.
