Senator Nwaogu makes case for gender equality

A former National Assembly Member and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, Senator Nkechi Nwaogu PhD has made clarion call for gender equality in politics.

The quintessential parliamentarian made this known while featuring in a monitored the Magic FM Political affairs program “Weekend Dialogue” anchored by popular on air personality Anastasia Odochi Uchenna with the topic, ” Abia Women in Politics, challenges and related matters therein”, reports www.newsmirrorng.com.

Nwaogu stated that, there are some militating factors hindering the women in politics but was hopeful of a better political future for the female gender.

The former banker maintained that, the women have the cognitive experience, adequate managerial skills to handle any elective position, urging the electorates to give the female gender a chance as that is the only way to ascertain their leadership qualities.

While proffering solutions to the factors that are hindering women involvement in politics, Sen. Nwaogu said organising of seminars, conferences and active involvement of women in politics despite the outcome of the election results, remains the key.

“Many factors are hindering women’s involvement in politics, but there is room for improvement, and I’m sure that the future looks good for the female gender. I’m sure that in nearest future, women will take up their most desired position in the politics. I’m encouraging all and sundry to give women a chance. Women have the cognitive experience and adequate managerial skills to lead” says Senator Nkechi Nwaogu
