At least two churches have commenced the sale of purported plots of land in heaven as a way of helping their interested members to prepare for eternity in the best possible place.
One of the them, a Christian Church of Spanish-Portuguese heritage in Mexico by name Entoms, is reported to have kick-started selling plots of land in heaven after the local pastor claimed that he spoke to God and was granted permission to sell at the rate of $100 (about N150,000) per square metre.
According to one report, “Images of the holy deal circulated on social media, with a brochure showing a grandiose house in the clouds with a family walking hand in hand up a golden staircase to their new home in heaven.
“The brochure also includes payment options that include PayPal, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, and even American Express. There are also payment plans available.”
“They have already collected thousands of dollars,” according to a June 23, 2024 tweet by My Mixtapez (@mymixtapez).
However, a real estate influencer on TikTok claimed that millions of dollars worth of the plots have already been sold in what is being called the “biggest real estate deal on the planet.”
Entoms is the second church known to have embarked on the sale of purported plots of land in heaven – the first being the Universal Apostle Fellowship Church in South Africa whose pastor reportedly began selling portions of land in heaven to his followers in 2023.
Fred Isanga, the church’s Ugandian-born pastor, is said to have “convinced a large number of his followers to sell off their land, animals and other assets to raise the capital for the acquisition of the heavenly property.”
