INTERNATIONAL FATHER’S DAY CELEBRATION: UNITED EVANGELICAL CHURCH OGBOR HILL ABA CHARGED THE FATHERS TO BE COURAGEOUS AS TO BE IMPACTFUL IN THE FAMILY, CHURCH AND SOCIETY

United Evangelical Church (UEC) at 50/54 Ikot Ekpene Road Ogbor Hill Aba Abia state, joined other Christian congregations all over the world to celebrate the International Father’s day on Sunday 16th June 2024.

This was preceded by a weeklong activities as part of preparations for the father’s special day celebration.
There were choral and variety programmes rehearsal all through the days of the week of the celebration.
A divine service cum grand finale in commemoration of International Father’s annual event was held at the UEC Ogbor Hill Aba, Auditorium -the citadel of God’s people.
The Central theme for this year’s Father’s day celebration was ” QUIT YE LIKE MEN, (BE COURAGEOUS LIKE MEN) drawn from 1 Corinthians 16 v 13”. The word ministration was performed by Bro Onyebuchi Stephen. Preaching on the theme, he did exposition of who the man is with a reflection of the account of God’s creation (Genesis 1 v 26) and powers, bestowed on him, to be at helm of affairs, to enjoy divine increase and to have domination over every other creature. The fathers were charged to be courageous as being required of them by Paul’s first letter to Corinthians from where the Biblical underpinning was drawn.


In the variety programmes, couples were randomly selected and engaged in a test tagged “DO YOU KNOW YOUR SPOUSE” . This session x-rayed the degree of acquaintance of those couples selected. The process produced Elder and Mrs Obinna Stanley Alozie as the best couple of the year.
Fathers in appreciation of the benevolence of God Almighty in granting them life, good health and every other enablement needed to be part of this year’s International Father’s day, made donation to support the work of God, who preserved their lives . Ministers Present during the service were the Secretary UNITED EVANGELICAL CHURCH Aba Area Conference, Reverend T. O.E Ikpeoha, others are the Congregational Ministers of UEC Ogbor: Reverend O.E. Ukaegbu and Pastor Godwin Amaechi.


The president of Men’s Fellowship, Deacon Justice Alozie, present his oration that anchored on the Central theme. He charged the men to remain steadfast in the face of their challenges in their faith and in the course of their divinely assigned duties in the family, Church and society. He intimated the congregation of God’s people with the progress made so far by Men’s Fellowship under his watch and attributed that to the maximum support of all adult males in the Church and grace of God Almighty.
The benediction was performed by the Secretary UEC Aba Area Conference Reverend T.O.E Ikpeoha. Thereafter, members departed to their various destinations.
