The aim of every political party whether in advance or developing democracy like Nigeria is to win an election. Political parties adopt every means necessary in order to achieve their objectives.
Though various forms of irregularities have almost become permanent features of elections in Nigeria, political parties in some cases, rely on the sympathy of the electorate to emerge victorious at the polls.
This is the measure been adopted by the Abia State chapter of Action Alliance (AA). The party’s leadership has therefore adopted Dr. Okey Prestige, the younger brother of late Ossy Prestige, as its flag bearer in the March 27 Aba Federal Constituency bye-election.
While handing over the party’s flag to the candidate, the State Chairman of Action Alliance, Mr. Tony Chibuko Ojih, said the his party took the position because the younger brother of the deceased was the most suitable person to fill the vacuum created by the death of the federal lawmaker.
According to him, Dr. Prestige, the 7th child of the family will continue with the legacies of his late elder brother.
