The Central Bank of Nigeria, has admonished Maize Farmers in Abia state to utilize all CBN sponsored facilities at farmers disposal

to ensure optimum productivity and maximise profit in maize farming.
The Central Bank Representative Mr Ogbuagu Camelius gave the charge while addressing newly elected and sworn in executives of Maize Association of Nigeria (MAAN) Abia State chapter in Umuahia Abia state.


Mr Ogbuagu advised them to see their new position as call to service not as a tool to amass wealth illegally for themselves noting that Abia farmers are looking unto them to good leadership and redeem the image of the association.
Also speaking the Board if Trustees member of MAAN representing South East South South who is also the Program Manager of Abia ADP, Honourable Amanze Israel Izybest, advised them to be ensure transparency in the service and embrace team spirit in order to succeed.
Also speaking while inaugurating the Maize Association Nigeria Executives the National President Alhaji Bello Funtua who spoe through the Zonal Coordinator South East Mr Ebere Oziri thanked the Federal Government, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and CBN for working assiduously towards actualization of the maize Farmers objective. They showered Encomiums on the performing Program Manager Abia ADP Chief Israel Amanze who has nortured MAAN in Abia state and attracted the CBN sponsored Anchor Borrower’s Program to the state. He informed them that MAAN has zero tolerance for corruption and mismanagement as perpetrators will be dealt with according to the law.

Speaking after their inauguration the new state Chairman of MAAN Abia thanked all made their election a success and pledged to work harmoniously with his colleagues to lead MAAN Abia to a greater height.
The election was witnessed by many stakeholders in the Agric sector as well as local government representatives of MAAN


The highpoint of the meeting was the official swearing-in of the newly elected Maize Farmers Officials
